I hold profound respect, love, and gratitude for all my mentors and teachers. (When everyone feels like a teacher, their numbers are legion!) I'll honor by name those I studied in person with for a year or more. Their fingerprints are on my heart: Dorothy Baldwin Satten, Mort Satten, Darlene Brooks, Dawna Markova, Andy Bryner, Ron Glick, Susan Taylor, Day Schildkret, Ron Kravitz and the circles of Music for People improvisers who continually teach me to let go and let Music. The lands and cultures I’ve lived in are in my bones: the Philippines, India, England, Greece, California, New Mexico, Louisiana, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. A final bow to my ancestors and the more-than-human companions, guides and guardians that have accompanied me throughout this wonderful adventure of a life. May the presence, wisdom, and gifts of all my teachers pass through me to you.
